Chief Credit Officer
Sambla Group is a fintech company with a clear goal – to be your trusted financial partner. We’ve grown into one of the fastest-growing fintech companies - bridging the gap between borrowers and lenders - thanks to the 500+ amazing people who work here.
We are looking for someone who wants to take on a key role in building and leading the credit function within our new business area, Credit & Deposits. In the summer of 2026, Sambla Group was granted authorisation as a credit market company, marking an important milestone in our continued journey to expand into own lending.
As Chief Credit Officer, you will be central to shaping this new business area and building the foundations for a strong, scalable and responsible credit function. You will report to senior management and the Board, lead the work of the Credit Committee and ensure that our credit risk level is aligned with the Board’s defined risk appetite. With strong portfolio quality and a sound credit culture at the core, you will also work closely with the business to support sustainable growth, healthy sales volumes and long-term profitability. Your responsibilities will include managing key external partners, such as credit bureaus and debt collection agencies.
The role is based in either Stockholm, at our head office, or in Malmö.
In this role, you will:
Ensure that the company’s credit risk level is aligned with the defined risk appetite and supports both short- and long-term business objectives.
Report on credit losses and other relevant risk indicators to senior management and the Board.
Establish, develop and maintain documentation, processes, systems and capabilities within the credit risk area.
Manage relevant external partners, including credit bureaus and debt collection agencies.
Chair and convene the Credit Committee.
Serve as a member of the Bank Management Team.
Contribute to a positive culture built on development, accountability and collaboration.
We believe you have:
An academic background in economics, data science, statistics, mathematics or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience from a credit responsibility role, preferably with solid experience in lending within car financing.
A strong understanding of the lending business and what it takes to create scalable, customer-focused and commercially sound credit solutions.
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, and the ability to make complex topics easy to understand.
A proactive and change-oriented mindset, with the drive to challenge, improve and develop the way we work.
A genuine motivation to create and build something new, together with a curiosity for AI and smarter ways of working that help us continuously move forward.
What we offer
The opportunity to build and shape a strategic key function from the ground up, with clear ownership and high impact.
Close collaboration with company leadership, where your insights and ideas can quickly turn into action.
A dynamic and entrepreneurial culture that encourages curiosity, AI and smarter ways of working to continuously move us forward.
We might be a little different from most companies. Instead of defining personal values, we’ve built a shared way of working - a rhythm that guides how we collaborate, support our customers, and move forward together. We call it Drive & Jive - a shared rhythm that creates momentum through direction, collaboration, and human connection.
As part of our recruitment process, we always carry out a background check before extending a job offer.
